My Love,
Today is your 28th birthday, and (I think) the third birthday we have spent together. I know someday we will look back and wonder how we were ever so young together; and weren't those days awesome and romantic when we were young and foolish and the world was really our oyster, even though sometimes we felt like we couldn't wait to get more established?
We are, I'm afraid to admit, hitting our late 20s. I'll be also turning 28 in just 20 days. All the things I've defined as youthful are quickly passing me by, and I have my moments where nostalgia washes over me and I wish I could go back and be a college girl again, but then I'd have to re-do all the what am I dooooooing? Why do I have all these feeeeeeelings? phases and I'd really rather keep those in the past. I have lessons I've learned, and I feel I'm a better person for them. And I feel that they've made me a better person to be in a relationship with you.
This year, we took a giant step, together, when we got married in Hawaii. Maybe one of the best parts of that is that we are now legally bound to spend the rest of our birthdays knowing that there's a person right in front of our face, that wants to make each birthday special. I love when I happen upon the right idea for your birthday gift (and I love when you drop hints even more), and I love thinking of the little things to make it special, like this year when I stopped to get chocolate cupcakes on the way home and had the candles lit when you walked in the door. And it really goes without saying that each and every year we've celebrated my birthday together, you've outdone yourself with creative, fun, sweet, loving gifts and thoughts, tucked inside my birthday card.
I hope you are enjoying your day so far, and I can't wait for the surprise I have lined up for you this weekend, and I hope when you look back, you can remember it through that halo glow of the candles. And I want you to know that I'm hoping that when you closed your eyes and blew the candles out, you really will get whatever it was you wished for.
I can't wait to see how your 28th year unfolds, and I can't wait to be able to spend it with you.
Happy birthday, my love.

Happy birthday William!
Happy Birthday William! And in your honor, a (politically-charged) ROBOT joke:
A man enters a bar and orders a drink from a robot bartender. The robot serves him the cocktail and then asks," What's your IQ?"
The man replies "150" and the robot proceeds to discuss quantum physics, string theory, atomic chemistry, etc.
The customer is very impressed and decides to test the robot. He finishes his drink, leaves the bar, turns around, then comes back in for another drink. Again, the robot serves him the drink and—thinking he's a new customer—asks, "What's your IQ?"
This time the man tells him his IQ is 100. The robot starts talking about football, NASCAR, supermodels, etc.
Really impressed, the man decides to test the robot one last time. He finishes his drink, leaves the bar, then comes back in. After he orders a drink, the robot once again asks his IQ.
The man replies "20."
And the robot asks, "So, you voted for McCain?"
Awwwwww!
So sweet. Thank you many times:)
p.s. great joke!
That is just the sweetest birthday note ever! Happy birthday, William!
