Hi.
I have been away for the following reasons:
1. I am buried in bureaucratic paperwork due to having a totaled car. (Once again, thanks dude, for totaling a car that I owed $560 on.)
2. I am running around like crazy makin' the copies and signing papers and not sure if I'm signing my life away or just getting money for my car.
3. I had a wicked reaction to travel vaccinations, two days with fever and chills and vomitous feelings.
4. On the heels of that, I developed a nice head cold (time to haul out the Neti pot).
5. I'm fitting in regular chiro appointments, work, regular errands, general Mo-chauffeuring... and no exercise yet.
6. I have slept like crap for about, oh, wait, 14 days.
7. Oh, that's right, I have a rental car 'til Monday, won't have a check for my car 'til end of next week if I'm lucky, and car dealerships close early on Fridays and aren't open on Sundays in good ol' MN.
8. So, lessee: Hurt, sick, sick, paperwork I don't understand, no sleep....
I'm kinda freaking out.
Want to help me?
I'm doing online research about cars.
Please answer the following:
What kind of car do you drive?
Do you like it? Why?
Is there anything you'd change about it? What?
Do you hate it? Why?
What would you do differently/would you buy the same car again?
Are you a new or "pre-owned" person? Why?

'04 Ford Focus - Hatchback
I like it because it's reliable, gets me to where I need to go, and I trust it will keep myself and my little guy safe if we ever get into an accident.
The only thing I would change is to get a sedan instead of a hatchback...although, it's KIND OF growing on me.
I don't hate it at all.
I'd definitely buy another focus, and possibly even upgrade to a fusion....I come from a ford family, what can I say?
I'm either or. The fo-sai was new..purchased after I was in an accident that also wasn't my fault. It hasn't let me down yet...but initially I was shopping for pre-owned vehicles.
aw, dude. i'm so sorry. but i'm still kind of gagging at the neti pot :P
i have a 2009 pri-YES.
i LOVE it. it's fun to drive around and it gets tremendous MPG.
i do wish it had some balls to it, but that's what you get with a hybrid 4-cylinder engine. ho-hum.
if i were to do it over again, i'd get the fully loaded version. i'm a spoiled brat like that.
i'm very much a "new" person, but have had pre-owned cars and been satisfied. i just like being the first owner and driving a new car home with 6 miles on the odometer.
They don't make my car anymore, but my brother has a Honda Fit, and my sister has a Honda Civic. They both love them - minimal upkeep and great gas mileage. But I come from a Honda family. :)
If you get a Honda or a Toyota, I don't think it matters much if it is new or a few years old. Those cars can go 300,000 miles.
Oh - and I hope you feel better soon! Not a fun way to start the year at all!
Have you found a car yet? We love our Saturn Vue ... but that might be too much vehicle for you & W (unless, of course, you're planning on starting a family any time soon). My friend just bought a Ford Escape and loves it. Hope you feel better soon!! Can't wait to see you Feb. 7!
What kind of car do you drive?
Honda Civic
Do you like it? Why?
I love it. It is my third Honda Civic. I think it's an affordable and reliable car.
Is there anything you'd change about it? What?
Hhmm... I wish it came in red.
Do you hate it? Why?
Nope.
What would you do differently/would you buy the same car again?
I would maybe research getting a loan through my bank. I don't think MY particular bank offers great interest deals but I have friends that belong to credit unions who got amazing interest rate loans.
Are you a new or "pre-owned" person? Why?
I am a "new" mostly because I am suspicious of pre-owned vehicles. No matter how pretty the car may look, you have NO idea how badly it may have been beaten up (a driver with a lead foot, sudden braking or driving through a city full of pot-holes).
