As with any blogger, I thrive on the comments I receive. It informs what I write about to some degree. And I see my blogging as a community—yes, it's an outlet and I get a lot of personal reflection time with it. But I also love the friends I have made here and love to have conversations with them.
So tell me! Me and Dre are asking, Where's all my mad rappers at? (Excluding you, WeeMo, my most faithful commenter.) I have noticed a gigantic drop-off in conversation. Are there things you'd rather read about? I know usually these questions are met with crickets, but I'm asking anyway.
I'm hoping NaBloPoMo reinvigorates my writing to some extent, too. And I still have some ideas in the hopper. It isn't so much that I'm interested in getting ideas as I am in improving my blog.

I get concerned about readership numbers, too. That's when I write something deeply personal and/or controversial to make sure that people are still out there.
Or pull a stupid "please de-lurk" stunt. Heh.
I know! I feel like I have written a lot of personal stuff and some political stuff ... comments have definitely dropped since my wedding. Hm.
I have decided not to participate in NaBloPoMo this year (kind got other things on my mind, er, belly these days), but I have pledged to be a better commenter, because I am the worst. I, too, love comments, and yet I rarely give them out. Bad, bad blogger, huh?
And I think we can blame the ease of Google Reader for lack of readership. It might seem as though numbers are down, but chances are, your stuff is still being read through a feed reader. People just aren't taking that extra step to click through and make a comment. At least, that's my excuse.
Anyway, I often don't comment because I get all ramble-y (see above drivel), but I just wanted to say hi, wish you luck on NaBloPoMo. Keep 'em coming!
Oh Katie, I've been here since '02, since back in the DLand days. You're on my RSS feed and I read every post, but if I don't comment it doesn't mean I'm not reading or don't care. I'm still on Dland and I only get a few comments per week, but that's OK. My diary is locked and only accessible to a dozen or so people, including you if you still have the login, so my readership is finite. I've always been a fan of your writing and it doesn't matter what the topic is, I enjoy reading.
NaBloPoMo is new to me (I actually had to do a search to figure out what you were talking about), but I think I'm up to speed now. Anyway, figured I might as well say hi while I'm thinking about it. Hugs from across the pond! -m.
My lack of commenting is more related to my hiatus than to your blog. I still enjoy it.

Hey! I comment on every post. I just get a little backed up sometimes. ;) I know how you feel. I don't have many readers and I really love getting comments from any of them. I don't make my blog as easily accessible as others so I get why my readership is low, but I still love comments. :)
you can totally tell when i'm getting caught up on my blog reading when you get a slew of comments all in a row :)
Well, I'm sure you're not expecting me to be as frequent of a commenter, but please know that I'm sooooo behind on my Google Reader. I have 600+ posts to read currently. *gulp*
