i'm sort of at a loss tonight for a blog. i've been gone all night, again, and i have a flurry of thoughts i'm just not able to articulate at this exact moment. i've also been going to bed waaaay too late this week, unable to wind down, and it is making getting up in the morning pure torture.
i did want to comment on something nanette said (can i use her any more in this blog? you'd think she was paying me or something. it turns out i just enjoy her blog), though, which is that you probably wonder how i could possibly be an editor without ever using capital letters, or, even being creative very often. i'm still working on that transition between working-writing and home-writing, and i find not editing myself so much to be extremely liberating. plus i hate the shift key. as it turns out, i have crazy attention-to-detail skills when i feel like (or am being paid) to use them. (*i freelance, people, and i guarantee results*). hey, i have won spelling bees!
i'm so glad it's wednesday. this week is going ridiculously slowly. must. get. to. weekend.
wedding updates: we have booked our flight! we are getting married in hawaii and we have transportation there! six and a half months. that is coming up fast, when you consider december will fly by with holidays, work schedules, and my lovely kilipino coming home to visit from paraguay-land. we should really get going on registering, sending save-the-dates, and the like. like, really really.
;)

Yes - Register! So much fun!! And easy too, if you just set aside the time to do it. I can't wait to see what you pick out...
Hawaii... that's so frickin' awesome.
I could use a trip to Maui right about now. Need any seat fillers at the wedding? ;) Get those save the dates out so your guests can book their tranportation and be excited like you!
i feel you. i'm not paid to edit, but i do pride myself on a fairly decent mastery of the english language, grammar, spelling, syntax, capitalization, yadda yadda. however, my online writing is in another category. i recently re-read parts of a blog i kept throughout college, and it made me blush. not the content, but the horrible slang and stream of consciousness. oh well!
have fun with the wedding stuff! i ended up just registering online as doing it in store was frustrating and overwhelming for us.
Save the Date cards are an insidious conspiracy perpetrated by the International Paper Products Kabal and The Worldwide Conglomerate of Bridal Magazines! Rage against that machine.
Awww, I'm blushing. ;)
I'm glad to know I'm not alone in cringing at my own writing at times, despite being a "professional." And I don't mind your no-caps writing. I've seen other much more cringe-worthy writing styles.
thanks, yes i designed it myself, did you want me to do the same thing or i can put together the header for you?? ummm by no means am i a pro or expert, i just know a few tricks..lemme know
i never use capitals in emails or things that are not business related. i totally get what you're saying--as a writer and editor it's incredibly liberating to 'free yourself of the rules' in personal writing!
i'm not a professional writer or anything, but my mommy always said i should be. anyway, you can see that i share in your lack of capital letters :)
and, registering is so. much. fun.
