Let's start with the positive news: it's now been THREE YEARS since my dad's lung surgery. You know, the one where he kicked cancer's ASS? Yeah, that surgiversary. He's been smoke-free ever since. So, so, so proud of him.
Rock on, Daddy!
Otherwise, crappy March rages on. This is always a terrible time of year in Minnesota. Just when you think it might be spring, you hear you'd better prepare for six inches of snow.
As I think I've mentioned here, I'm on a budget diet. It's been a big change for me. I know it's good for me, but I've pretty much hated it. And I've pretty much given up shopping, or doing much social stuff because I just shouldn't or can't. And I've been picking up work on the side, because it was getting me hopefully closer to my goal faster. (Although I am working on a really fun story right now that I'm really excited about, so that's a huge positive.)
BUT THAT CAN'T HAPPEN IF MY CAR KEEPS BREAKING.
Ugh, more time of no shopping, no spending, and fixing up my car. This time it's one, possibly two, wheel bearings. There goes the cute cruiser bike I wanted to get (and thought I had the cash for).
So frustrated.

uggghh. . . isn't it the worst when you have to spend money on boring and necessary stuff like car maintenance?
but that's awesome about your dad! can't believe it's been three years, I think I remember when you were going through that.
Yay! Boo!
I can't believe it's been three years either. It's been almost 4 years since my mom was diagnosed and 2.5 years since her stem cell transplant. Time flies!
I just had to put $800 into my car a couple weeks ago for tire/wheel things. My thought? It's all those freakin' potholes I clunk over every day! But, I guess wheels need to stay on, so it's important to get that fixed. :)
I hate the whole being on a budget thing. It really brings me down!
That's great about your dad (and I'm especially happy to read that he's smoke free... because my dad? Yeah - had a stroke 7 years ago and STILL won't give up smoking).
Three years?! Wow. It doesn't seem that long ago. Then again, Adam will be TWO this summer, and that seems nearly impossible as well.
Just wanted to let you know that I'm glad your pops is doing good (and A's mama, too). I know it's frustrating dealing with financial issues, but ya gotta keep it all in perspective. When you have your health, you have a lot.
Yay for your Dad! That is great. I hear you on the budget thing - not doing things sucks. Although it is a lot easier when you live in a small town where you don't know a lot of people. :)
Hey it's April today! Maybe this month will turn things around for you. I hope it at least turns this crappy weather around damn it.
I am so happy for your dad!!!!!
budgets blow chunks.
especially when they're nonexistent, like in the wan house. and not in the fun way.
